Getting to Punta Allen
Getting to Punta Allen has never been easier.
You need to fly into Cancun International Airport - an easy
airport to get to with direct daily flights from most cities
in the U.S. and abroad. The airport is easy to get around
in with all major car rental companies available.
This is not your Granddad's Mexico. The roads are new, four-lane interstates
south to Tulum and
the road to Punta Allen is newly redone and a short one and
one-half hour drive from Tulum.
Shuttle service for one week clients is free
and was included in your 7 night/ 6 day fishing package. You
will be met at the Cancun Int. Airport by our new courtesy
van and a friendly English speaking tour-guide happy to give
you the history of the Yucatan as you travel to our 'worlds
away,' lodge in Punta Allen.
Your driver can stop in either Playa del
Carmen or Tulum and give you the opportunity to do some last
minute shopping. Please note that we have almost anything
you might want to purchase in the pueblo of Punta Allen, but
you will pay double!
Shorter stays may arrange similar round-trip
transportation at the rate of $500, (one to four persons).
Many travelers, coming for shorter stays to
our lodge enjoy the easy access via a rental car and the
directions are described below.
When you leave the
airport, you follow the only road in or out of the airport
for 1 mile to an interchange. Veer and exit to the right
(south) for
Playa del Carmen and Tulum. It is a very nice four lane
highway named MEX 307. You stay on it for 129
kilometers to Tulum.
When you get to Tulum it only has
ONE traffic light. Take a left at the traffic light and
follow the road all the way to Punta Allen, 54 kilometers.
At the traffic light in
Tulum is a nice grocery store called San Francisco. A great
place to stretch your legs, get a soda, use the bathroom, or fill up the tank
at Pemex
for Punta Allen.
